The Otago Region of UN Youth, covering the entirety of New Zealand located south of the Waitaki River, was founded in 2006. Initially UN Youth Otago offered specialist support to the Otago branch of Rotary to help run their Model United Nations Assembly event. Since then, the Region has diversified its events programme, to include a flagship Model UN conference, subregional events in Southland, Central Otago, Dunedin, and a Youth Forum event. We might be the youngest region, but we are also the fastest growing.

Annual General Meeting 2017

The 2017 Otago AGM to elect the Otago Regional Council for the 2018 term will be held on October, at the OUSA Recreation Centre. Come along to hear about what we’ve been up to this year and elect the council volunteers for next year. There will be cookies!

AGM: Nominations and Voting

Nominations have now closed. A compiled list of nominations can be found here.

In order to be eligible to vote, you must have attended at least one regional or national UN Youth event in the 2017 calendar year.

AGM: Discussion

The AGM will also see the presentation of reports from the current regional council. Compiled reports from the 2017 Council can be found here.

The AGM also provides an opportunity for members of the Otago region to give feedback and raise any discussion points for other members and the regional council to address. There are currently no discussion points submitted, but we encourage you to do so if you’d like to raise something. You can submit your discussion points to the returning officer.

Unable to Attend?

If you are unable to attend the AGM, you may cast a proxy vote allowing you to still have your say in the 2018 Regional Council. Proxy votes submitted to the Returning Officer without a significant reason meaning you cannot attend AGM will be invalidated. Please submit your proxy vote to the returning officer Sinead Gill ([email protected])

Any questions regarding the nomination process, or the Annual General Meeting can also be directed to the returning officer, Sinead Gill via [email protected]
