Overview

About the event:

Following the success in 2019, the Wellington Region is looking for committed tertiary students to organise our largest annual tertiary event, Wellington Model International Court of Justice.

WMICJ is our unique spin on the traditional MUN-style events UN Youth New Zealand often delivers. Participants are allocated roles as either a counsel or judge, and actively take part in debate discussing international law and political theory that are relevant to the case in hand.

Volunteers will learn important organisational skills through this committee, including working within budgets, managing relationships with external parties and creating unique educational content and strategies. These skills transfer well both in terms of further volunteer work and professional development.

Positions available:

Coordinator, Communications Officer, Logistics Officer, and Education Officer.

More information about each individual role and the application process can be found here

Note: These are potential positions, that will be appointed at the discretion of the Regional Council, based on applications

Report to: Wellington Regional President

Length of Tenure: February 2020 – August 2020

Note that these are unpaid roles. The UN Youth Wellington Regional Council reserves the right to reopen applications, and to appoint positions that may vary from those mentioned above, as well as to refrain from appointing one or more of these roles.

Applications close on Wednesday, 22nd of January 2020 at 11:59:59pm.
