About the event and roles:
UN Youth is looking for committed tertiary students to take on a key role in organising one of the most highly-anticipated events of the year. Delegates from High School come together to debate issues of global security, under the framework of the high-intensity Security Council. Issues of the highest global importance are discussed, and it’s a great way for delegates to come together to discuss some of the world’s most pressing issues, all in a fun, cooperative environment.
Volunteers will learn important organisational skills through this committee, including working within budgets, managing relationships with external parties and creating educational content and strategies. These skills transfer well both in terms of further volunteer work and professional development.
Please find out more information about each of the roles via the ‘Positions Available and Responsibilities’ document found here.
A completed application must consist of personal details and a cover letter (not exceeding two pages). Please have the following questions answered:
- Why are you interested in this role?
- What relevant skills can you bring to the role, and how have you demonstrated these in the past? Please note that you do not have to have any previous experience within UN Youth to apply.
- (Only answer if applying for Coordinator/Educations Officer) What is your vision for the event and how would you ensure the committee works together effectively to achieve it?
Selections will be conducted by the Wellington Regional President and Vice Presidents which will then be approved by a vote on the Council. The Coordinator will be confirmed before the rest of the committee.
Applications close on Wednesday 22nd May at 11:59 pm.
