Overview

Following a Special General Meeting (SGM) of UN Youth on 2 July 2019, the members of the organisation passed a resolution to adopt a new constitution. This new constitution reforms the governance structure of UN Youth, with a Board set to assume the governance responsibilities previously held by National Council on 1 January 2020.

Consequently, an Establishment Board of Directors (EBD) will be established. The EBD will be made up of three to five Ordinary Directors, a Volunteer’s Representative and the National President of UN Youth for the time being. From its appointment at the end of August, the Establishment Board will be responsible for preparing the necessary documents and processes for the new governance structure, so that when it comes into effect on 1 January 2020, the transition is as smooth as possible. We are looking for a range of candidates to put themselves forward for election to the EBD.

Nominations for the Ordinary Director positions on the Board have now closed.

Nominations for the Volunteers Representative are still open and are due by 7 PM on Wednesday 7 August 2019. Details in regards to this position can be found here.
