Overview

Applications are now open to be part of the Regional Delegation Co-Director team for Aotearoa Youth Declaration 2019, and will close on the 21st October 2018 at 11.59pm.

Aotearoa Youth Declaration is UN Youth’s flagship civics education conference. The conference aims to equip participating youth from all across Aotearoa with a deeper understanding of their place within their community and the ways they can actively contribute to it. Participants are guided by facilitators in small groups, each centred around a different policy area.

While Aotearoa Youth Declaration is based in Auckland, youth throughout New Zealand attend and contribute to the conference and the resulting document. We understand that traveling across the country alone and staying in Auckland will no doubt be a daunting experience for many. That’s where the regional delegation program steps in: it provides a supportive environment where participants feel at ease and at their best throughout their stay in Auckland, not just at the conference. That includes taking care of accommodation, transport, as well as all forms of support, whether it be emotional, spiritual, social, or physical. The 2018 Regional Delegation Co-Directors (RDCD) will lead the Regional Delegation volunteers and participants, and will create a safe and inclusive environment for students whilst they attend Aotearoa Youth Declaration. It is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills, work closely in a small group and above all, create an unforgettable experience for the participants.

Applications for the directorship team will open after the appointment of the co-directors.
