Every year in the first weekend of December, UN Youth holds our annual Volunteers Training Hui (or VTH). Last year the format was completely reworked and this year the National Executive built on this to make it even more engaging and affordable! Overall, it will be an amazing opportunity for volunteers of all experience levels to get to know one another and learn from each other.

Our vision for VTH 2017 is as a chance for councils and committees for 2018 to do some strategic planning ahead of their individual planning retreats. We also see it as an opportunity for volunteers from all over the country to come together, to meet their counterparts from other regions, learn some skills relevant to their roles, and hopefully have some fun!

Key Information

VTH 2017 will be fully residential, hosted a little outside of Wellington at El Rancho camp on the Kapiti Coast! It will be held from the afternoon of Friday 1 December to Sunday 3 December.

To register we will be asking for a $40 donation. Transport to and from the camp, accommodation, meals and activities will all be covered by UN Youth. If you were a Volunteer this year or will be a Volunteer next year you are automatically eligible to attend VTH. If you do not fall under those categories, but are interested in attending, please contact our National Volunteers Officer at [email protected].

We will accept registrations until 11.59pm, Sunday 19 November, but we highly recommend registering early (especially if you are travelling from outside of Wellington) because places are limited! Registrations open now!

Once you’ve registered join the #vth-2017 Slack channel, where we will be putting updates for attendees.
