Overview

Introducing Wellington Model United Nations 2020! Our flagship regional event sees two days of thrilling debate from the perspective of your assigned country. Battle with world issues as a member state of the United Nations General Assembly, and participate in interactive workshops and activities!

This year we are focussing on a range of topics that have been selected due to their topical and controversial nature, such as the question of attacking cultural sites, and the question of promoting sustainable development in oil-dependent economies. This event will broaden delegates’ knowledge of international issues and strengthen their critical thinking, communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.

Registrations for delegates and conference assistants open on the 20th of February and close on the 15th of March. Make sure to get your application quickly so you don’t miss out on this incredible event!

The event is held at Victoria University of Wellington’s Kelburn campus.
