When thinking of our future how can we go from being UN+Resourceful to becoming more sustainable, equitable and efficient?

Otago Southland Model UN 2019 will explore current global issues like the food crisis, the rights of indigenous communities and the accountability of social media companies.

The event will be held over August 17-18 at the Otago Business School for students from year 9-13 in the Otago-Southland region. Over the weekend students will put themselves in the shoes of diplomats and represent the views of a country and learn to negotiate in order to provide solutions to current issues. Workshops, committee sessions and mass debates will be run giving everyone the chance to participate and have their voice heard.

This is the perfect opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills all the while learning more about the world around you 🌏 This is also the perfect chance to start getting involved in the wider world of UN Youth and all the other opportunities offered nationally and in the Otago region!

We even have engaging speakers, fantastic workshops and great food lined up so don’t miss out 🇺🇳🇺🇳🇺🇳
