The region’s flagship event for the year is back, and better than ever!

Canterbury Model United Nations is the premiere UN Youth event in the Canterbury region that has been run for 17 years!! The two-day conference immerses students in a simulation of the real United Nations, debating resolutions about topical global issues from the perspective of their assigned countries. The event provides a unique opportunity for school students to develop and improve a range of critical skills such as global knowledge, negotiation and problem-solving.

The theme for this year’s conference is the changing nature of the industry. Through this, we aim to foster delegates conversations about how to adapt for the educational, social and environmental aspects of a changing industrial landscape within our Model UN format. By fueling these discussions we hope to help students become global citizens, helping us forge new answers to global issues and events.

Canterbury Model UN is set to be held on 1 and 2 of April in the Christchurch Town Hall.
