Aotearoa Youth Declaration is held in Auckland, however the opportunity to attend is available to young people based anywhere in the country. Regional Delegations offers young people from outside of Auckland a safe, fun and easy way to experience the conference.
Fifteen senior UN Youth Volunteers, several who are trained in welfare, mental health first aid, and have current First Aid certificates, take care of everything from airport shuttles, accommodation and meals for a group of approximately 98 participants from around the country. Dinners and breakfasts are covered, while food during the day is covered at the conference.
Upon arrival at Auckland airport or a bus station everything about the participants stay will be taken care of until departure. The senior, trained volunteers also make sure your young people get the full experience of Aotearoa Youth Declaration and are on hand 24 hours a day to assist with their care. The group will be taken to and from the conference each day which is a short walking distance.
The Regional Delegation will be staying at YHA Auckland City, a safe, secure and environmentally friendly hostel. We have booked out entire floors with Regional Delegation Leaders on each floor. We have been running the Regional Delegation for many years and are continually improving our services.
The Regional Delegation will stay at YHA from the night of the 14th of April to the night of the 17th. The conference finishes at 5.30pm on the 18th of April. If the participant requires an extra night of accommodation on the night of the 17th, we can organise this at an extra cost for the individual. If you or your child has ANY dietary, medial, wellbeing concerns (allergies, nose bleeds, anxiety) you must include this in the application form so we know how to best support the participant. The cost of Regional Delegation is $270 which covers accommodation, shuttle fees, dinners for nights of the 13th to 16th, and breakfasts for each of the mornings. The cost also includes the welfare and first aid training of the volunteers.
