UN Youth Canterbury’s flagship event is back and ready for another two days of public speaking, debating, problem-solving and generally just a whole lot of fun! Set to take place on the 3rd and 4th of May at the University of Canterbury, Ilam Campus, you’ll be able to debate and solve global issues all from the perspective of a member state of the United Nations General Assembly, as well as engage with problem-solving workshops to build your diplomacy skills.
This year's theme is UN+Global. This year, we are focused on current international issues and considering how much decision-making power is given to international organisations and their members. We want to look at how these large alliances and mutual understandings work and if they are mutually beneficial for everyone. We will discuss issues concerning globalisation, trade, and shared global resources and consider potential solutions to these issues may look like.
Delegates will be looking at a range of issues through lenses of the various parts of the United Nations, culminating in the General Assembly.
Registrations are now open for delegates and conference assistants and will close at 11.59pm on April 21st. Get your application in now so you don’t miss out!
